ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENTIST / ENGINEER 3-6 yrs, CONTAMINATED LAND

We are currently seeking a full time Environmental Scientist or Engineer with 3 to 6 years experience in contaminated land, soil and groundwater investigation.
 
As a motivated member of our Land and Groundwater group, your technical competence will contribute to robust solutions for our clients.
 
Your background should include practical experience in site investigation, supervision of subcontractors and the diligent application of safe work practices and procedures.
 
A solid team player, you should also have the ability to work independently, showing initiative and natural accountability for the high quality delivery of your tasks and projects on time and on budget.
 
You should have good written reporting skills, be thorough and analytical in your investigation work and have a good understanding of Victorian and Australian legislation for soil and groundwater.
 
Your client liaison and communications skills will contribute to a high level of client satisfaction and lasting client relations.

Welcome Mandy Elliott - Principal Environmental Scientist -
Mandy Elliott joined Landserv in March 2010, having spent the past decade with Victorian Government departments reviewing EES referrals for many of Victoria’s major projects. With over 16 years experience, Mandy's familiarity with Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and navigating the approvals requirements at State and Commonwealth level takes Landserv's capabilities to the forefront of the environmental industry. Mandy is recognised as a leading expert in EIA in Australia and is co-author of "Environmental Impact Assessment in Australia: Theory and Practice" (2009).

Major Projects Victoria - Construction Environmental Management Plans -Landserv specialises in Environmental Management and Planning and has recently completed Construction Environmental Management Plans for two Major Projects Victoria developments. Both the Melbourne Markets Relocation Project and the Redevelopment of Melbourne and Olympic Parks Precinct are large scale infrastructure projects that Landserv is proud to have been involved in. The Melbourne Markets CEMP was approved by the Department of Planning and Community Development (DPCD) and construction of the new facility by Bovis Lend Lease has now commenced.

Coastal Climate Change
Landserv Director Damien Chappell recently contributed to the Victorian Planning and Environmental Law (VPELA) reference group in preparing a briefing report to the Coastal Climate Change Advisory Committee appointed by Minister for Planning Justin Madden. In researching and summarising the current technical information sources, Damien drew on his experience preparing a risks and controls library for all of Victoria's local ports, as well as auditing Port Safety and Environmental Management Plans.

Landserv Advises Melbourne Water Waterways Alliance
Since October 2008, Landserv has actively contributed to the Melbourne Water Waterways Alliance, investigating and advising on the management of contaminated soil and acid sulfate soil. The Alliance includes Melbourne Water, SMEC Australia, Ecodynamics and Fulton Hogan. Our work has assisted Project Managers and designers to prepare for the implications of soil conditions during design phase and to optimise the re-use of soil in accordance with the EPA's recent Industrial Waste Resource Guidelines.
