Last month, Landserv made a purchase of carbon emission offsets with Greenfleet to make up for our residual emissions for the past 3 years. Greenfleet is an Australian not-for-profit organisation that offsets greenhouse gas emissions by planting forests that soak up carbon dioxide from the atmosphere as they grow. Their forests are made up of a wide variety of Australian native trees that also help to reduce soil erosion and salinity, improve water quality, and provide habitat for native animals.

Landserv’s other environmental initiatives include: running all LPG vehicles, using 100% recycled paper, and purchasing 100% renewable energy electricity. Since 2008 we have also estimated our residual emissions and purchased carbon credits on a voluntary basis to offset our emissions. We have also pre-purchased ongoing offsets for the emissions from Landserv’s vehicles for the coming year. All staff members are encouraged to buy carbon off-set for airfares, as well as for other personal and company purchases whenever possible.

Furthermore, one of our main capabilities is Carbon Assessment and Modelling. Landserv provides emission reporting, strategic advice and modelling services to assist our clients to quantify, manage and minimise emissions.  Our personnel understand and advise on quantifying the implications of Australia’s carbon tax, as well as potential opportunities under the carbon farming initiative. We are experienced in reporting under the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting (NGER) system and use of the Department of Climate Change and Energy Efficiency (DCCEE) “OSCAR” reporting system.
