Landserv is proud to announce it has recently been certified as a B Corporation. We join a growing community of like minded socially and environmentally responsible businesses.

What is a B Corporation?

B Corporation Certifications are awarded to responsible businesses whose practices benefit the environment, their local communities and their workers. To achieve the certification we undertook a rigorous assessment of our company’s governance, transparency and environmental and social impact. B Corporations are an emerging group of companies that are using the power of business to create a positive impact on the world and generate a shared and durable prosperity for all.

What makes us a B Corporation?

Out of all the criteria we scored highly in our environmental and workers benefits.

Environmental – as an environmental consultancy our business model helps reduce waste disposed of to landfills and improves the human and environmental health for the community. We recycle everything we can in our offices and from our field practices, and reduce our carbon footprint by off-setting our vehicle travel and energy usage.

Workers – our workers are our most important asset and we ensure that our office spaces are located close to public transport hubs to limit travel times to and from home. Laptops are also available to allow staff to work from home, if required. Offices are pet friendly and end of trip facilities are available for staff that cycle to and from work or exercise nearby. An extra public holiday is provided for birthdays and additional superannuation is provided.

In September 2016 we also became one of the first organisations in Australia to achieve certification to the new ISO9001:2015 standard for Quality Management Systems). We endeavour to continuously improve our processes during 2017-2018, leading toward our recertification audit in 2 years’ time.

The local B Corp Community

We are the 185th B Corp in Australia and New Zealand and join companies such as Harwood Andrews / Sladen Legal, Australian Ethical Investment, Who Gives a Crap, Edge Environment, Jasper Coffee, Stone & Wood brewing company, Dunn and Hillham Architects and Hive Construction.

Worldwide the B Corp community includes more than 1,900 Certified B Corps from 41 countries and 121 industries working together toward 1 unifying goal: to redefine success in business.

What now?

We look forward to communicating and promoting these achievements more to our clients, during 2017. Likewise, we look forward to networking and participating in the B Corp community, this June, at the B Corp community event, hosted by the B Lab.

It feels great to be part of a progressive business movement that promotes sustainability and social awareness within commercial industries and we look forward to sharing our B Corp journey with the public throughout 2017. Stay tuned!
